Lindsey Mercer joined the Law Offices of C. Bradley Patton as an associate in 2005. Ms. Mercer graduated with a BA in Political Science from UC Berkeley in 1999. After working in the non-profit sector for several years, Ms. Mercer returned to her hometown of San Diego and earned a J.D. from the University of San Diego in 2005.

While in law school, Ms. Mercer studied international criminal law at Oxford University in Oxford, England and the University of the Western Cape in Capetown, South Africa.

Ms. Mercer served as Chair of the USD Appellate Moot Court Board and was selected to compete on its National Moot Court Team in several national and international criminal law competitions. In recognition of her outstanding oral and written legal advocacy, Ms. Mercer was inducted into the prestigious Order of the Barristers upon graduation and was honored with the Statute of Justice Award for Outstanding Advocacy.

Ms. Mercer’s criminal defense experience includes being a part of the defense team for two death penalty murder cases, co-counsel for a high profile attempted murder case, and representation of clients accused of DUIs, domestic violence charges, drug offenses, theft offenses, sex offenses, violent felonies, and juvenile delinquency matters. Ms. Mercer also handles felony and misdemeanor appeals as well as other post conviction relief.

Ms. Mercer co-authors a chapter on criminal law and procedure with Mr. Patton in the California Criminal Law Practice & Procedure Manual.
